The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos has urged Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of the state, to probe the administration of Babatunde Fashola, his predecessor.
Fashola steered the wheel of the state between 2007 and 2015.
Though during his tenure, Fashola enjoyed goodwill within and outside the state, Taofik Gani, publicity secretary of PDP, said there were infractions on the rights of Lagos residents under his watch as the number one citizen of the state.
Gani also accused the former governor of misappropriation of resources.

“On behalf of all concerned Lagosians, we call on the governor of Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to immediately set up a commission of enquiry to investigate the eight years administration of his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola,” Gani said in a statement.
“The need for this is apt in view of the cases of human rights abuse witnessed during Fashola’s tenure, especially ones perpetrated by the state’s task force and Kick Against Indiscipline officers.
“The bogus cost of the Falomo bridge must also be probed. The cost of buying over of the Lekki-Epe toll system must also be investigated.

“Imagine all the canals purportedly contracted to be cleared and channelled are all block. Lagosians are now suffering from flooding. This must be investigated.”
