It was a sad day for the football world as one of the brightest Ivorian stars, Cheick Tiote, passed on.
The former Newcastle United player was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed on the training ground of his Chinese team, Beijing Enterprises, on Monday.
Fellow Ivorians Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba, Newcastle United players and the football world took to Twitter to pay tribute to the midfielder.
His former manager Rafa Benitez described him as a professional, who was dedicated and talented.
