The Plexus Media has trained some women in Lagos on practical solutions and strategies to overcoming personal and professional challenges.
As part of women’s month celebrations, the event, themed “Rise, renew, reignite”, was held with the name HERbernation.
The event provided a platform for participants to gain clarity in their careers, reset their mental and emotional well-being, and embrace personal growth.
Ozioma Ubabukoh, the principal consultant at Plexus, said the programme was organised to encourage women to prioritise themselves amid life’s demands.

“We live in a fast-paced world where women often juggle multiple roles, meet endless expectations, and sometimes forget to take a moment for themselves,” Ubabukoh said.
“But today is different. Today is about you. It is about your story, your growth and your journey towards becoming the best version of yourself.”
The event featured discussions on ‘navigating imposter syndrome, breaking workplace barriers, women’s health, and personal reinvention’.

The speakers encouraged women to rise above self-doubt, challenge the silence around women’s health, and push for change in the workplace.
Ogechi Eleojo, the dean of Purple Academy, urged women to be intentional about self-worth and visibility, adding that they must track their achievements to avoid imposter syndrome and build confidence.
“Timidity is not humility. Make a list of all the things you have done. Look at them every day and tell yourself, I did this,” she said.
“Visibility is not eye service; it is communicating your work so that it’s seen.”

Ruth Ebe-Emordi, a medical doctor at the National Medical University of Kyiv, Ukraine, said there is a need for women to take charge of their health and advocate for themselves.
“You have to be an advocate for yourself before you can advocate for others. Be proactive about their well-being,” Ebe-Emordi said.
Elizabeth Kings-Wali, the chief executive officer (CEO) of 4Stone Capital, reminded women not to let setbacks define them, adding that “purpose is greater than temporary setbacks”.
Efe Obiomah, founder of Brand Spark and Udu Consult, highlighted the importance of self-discovery beyond societal expectations, particularly in the context of marriage and career pressures.
