The Kogi state persons with disabilities (PWD) association has urged Abdullahi Bello, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, to examine the issues affecting them.
In an open letter signed by Yakubu Abdulhakeem, the association’s president, the PWDs expressed concerns over “marginalisation” in the allocation of APC’s interest and nomination forms.
They commended the party for reducing the cost of nomination forms to encourage the participation of women and PWDs.
They however said the policy disproportionately favours women.

They said this oversight goes against the tenet of inclusivity.
They appealed to Usman Ododo, governor of the state, and other APC stakeholders to address the “lopsidedness”.
The association added that it is important for PWDs to participate in the LG elections and for the party to promote inclusivity and political participation for PWDs at all levels.
