PZ to launch 3rd edition of Chemistry Challenge Tuesday

PZ will launch the third edition of its Chemistry Challenge for secondary schools students on Tuesday.

The current edition of the project, which is an initiative of PZ Cussons Foundation, is being sponsored by Carex, one of the products of PZ Cussons.

Entries from SS3 students in public and private schools in Lagos state are currently on and will run till November 4.

Oluwaseun Ayeni, Carex brand manager, said the 2015 edition will be more exciting because additional opportunities and fabulous prizes had been introduced.

Ayeni added that apart from the scholarships and cash rewards worth over N3 million for the four finalists, there would be a four-month online competition which will run from October, with winners emerging every month.

He said other finalists, teachers and schools of finalists are eligible to participate in the online competition.

Ayeni also said that only two students per school will be allowed to participate in the main competition, encouraging interested schools to send in their best Chemistry students.

Eligible participants are to visit the project website www.pzcarexchemistrychallenge.com and check the ‘registration’ portal to register.

“This year, a designated blog has been created and embedded on the PZCCC website. It will be exploited to allow followers to follow and review the content. Also added is a PZCCC youtube channel to share videos online,” the organisers said in a statement.

Emmanuel Onyekachi of Miketoy College, Ikotun, emerged the overall winner of the maiden edition, while Obi David, Mgbemena Thankgod and Victor Ike-Okoro, were the runners-up.

Last year, Nwaoha Ifeanyi from ISOLOG College in Ojodu, Lagos State, was the ultimate winner and Animashaun Jamiu, Abayomi Azeez and Onu Jeremiah, were the runners-up.
