Q Media and Communications Limited, publishers of A-List, a marketing and communication publication, says Jimi Awosika, vice chairman of Troyka’s group, and Akinlolu Akinwunmi, group managing director of Prima Garnet, will be honoured with lifetime achievement awards.

The communications company said Udeme Ufot, group managing director of S O & U will also receive a lifetime achievement award.

In a statement issued on Monday by Samuel Ajayi, the chief executive officer of Q Media, the awardees will be honoured at the maiden edition of the Iconic Brands and Legends of Marketing Communications Awards ceremony.

The event is themed ‘Marketing Communications Practice in the Last 40 years: Between Technological Innovation and Human Creativity’.

“The Awards Ceremony would also see a number of practitioners who have put in a minimum of 20 years the marketing communications industry would be honoured with the Legends of Marketing Communication Awards,” Ajayi said.

“In the same vein, some brands that have been around for at least ten years and are still relevant in the market would bag Iconic Brands Awards.

“The foremost marketing communications writer and former campaign editor at THISDAY Newspapers, Akin Adeoya, will be delivering keynote address on the theme of the Awards Ceremony which is ‘Marketing Communications Practice in the Last 40 years: Between Technological Innovation and Human Creativity’.”

According to the organisers, a compendium of marketing communications professionals operating in the industry, as well as profiles of agencies, PR firms, marketing companies and other players in the integrated marketing communications ecosystem, will also be presented to guests at the event.

“Apart from the awards, we want to create an evening for scholarly and intellectual engagement,” the CEO said.

“That was why we picked that theme and we believe no one could do justice to it than Akin Adeoya who has been around the marketing communication space for the greater part of the past 30 years.”

On October 17, the company announced it is set to hold the Iconic Brands Awards to recognise leading brands, media, and marketing communications professionals in Nigeria.
