African number one table tennis player Aruna Quadri is the cover star of the world tennis magazine’s January 2018 edition.
Quadri’s interview with the Tokyo-based magazine, entitled ‘Superstar In Africa’, is the lead story.

The 29-year-old is featured as a result of his performance in table tennis in 2017.

After recording victories over top-ranked players at the Swedish Open, Quadri amassed 50 points to improve from 2457 to 2507 points.
He ended the year as 21 in the world ranking, a new record for Nigeria and himself.
Quadri won the Polish Open men’s singles title and became the first African to win an ITTF title outside the continent.
He also reached the semi-finals of the Bulgaria Open, losing to eventual champion Dmitrij Ovcharov.
