Quadri, Toriola scale through to second round of Nigeria Open

Aruna Quadri and Segun Toriola have qualified for the second round of the ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open.

Quadri, who is ranked 18 in the world, defeated Italian, Amato Antonino, in straight sets.

The Nigerian did not break a sweat as he won in all four sets.

Meanwhile, Toriola defeated China’s Wang Xinyang in a five-set thriller.

Aruna crashed out of the Nigeria Open in 2017 as he lost in the early stage to his Nigerian counterpart, Abiodun Bode.

The tournament is ongoing at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
