Queen Elizabeth under supervision as doctors express concern over her health

Doctors have expressed concerns over the health of Queen Elizabeth II and have advised that she continues to be closely monitored.

Buckingham Palace disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday.

“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral,” the statement reads.

“Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have traveled to Balmoral.”

The development comes on the heels of the Queen’s absence from a scheduled Privy Council meeting so she could “rest”.

RECENT HEALTH CONCERNS

Since October 2021, the 96-year-old monarch has been routinely using a cane due to chronic mobility concerns.

On the advice of her doctors, she postponed a planned trip to Northern Ireland the same month and spent a night in the hospital.

In February 2022, the palace announced that Queen Elizabeth had tested positive for COVID-19 and was “experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week”.

In a statement on Thursday, Liz Truss, Prime Minister of the UK, said “the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts — and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom — are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time”.
