Radda seeks private investment in schools to make Katsina education hub

Dikko Radda of Katsina state says his administration is driven to turn the state into a hub of educational excellence.

The governor spoke on Tuesday while launching the newly renovated Family Support Programme (FSP) Nursery and Primary School.

NAN reports that the school renovation was funded by the Oando Foundation and facilitated by Zainab Musa-Musawa, the state commissioner for secondary and basic education.

He envisioned a future where students are academically proficient and equipped with critical thinking skills, innovative mindsets, and a strong moral compass.

“The renovation and equipment of this Family Support Programme School is a tangible demonstration of dedication by providing a conducive learning environment for our children,” the governor said.

“A well-maintained resource reached school as essential for fostering a love of learning and nurturing the intellectual growth of our students.”

Radda described the project as a corporate social responsibility initiative that would impact the lives of students.

He added that the focus of his government was to increase enrollment and improve the quality of education at all levels.

“We are determined to ensure that our graduates are equipped with skills and knowledge required to excel in disciplines that will directly benefit the state,” he added.

“We are spared to see a significant increase in the number of our students pursuing careers in medicine, engineering, technology, agriculture and other critical sectors of development.”

Radda further explained that already the state had embarked on infrastructural development to create conducive learning in schools and develop the teachers’ skills with modern equipment.

“We have also been involved in curriculum enhancement to make learning more practical by the global standard,” he noted.

The governor urged parents, teachers, community leaders, and private stakeholders to partner with his administration in its effort to develop the state.

“Let us work together to create a brighter future for our children and a more prosperous Katsina state. Let’s provide every child with an opportunity to reach his/her full potential,” he added.

“I am encouraging private sector organisations to emulate this novel effort of investing in the future of our children.”
