Saadatu Mohammed, managing director of Kano state radio, says there is no room for slander or libel at the station because its staff are well trained.
She promised to give equal opportunity to members of the opposition in the state to air their views whenever they want to.
Speaking with journalists at her office in Kano on Tuesday, Mohammed said Abdullahi Ganduje, the state governor, was working to digitalise and equip the corporation with state-of-the-art equipment.
She said the government purchased two new 400KVA brands of power generating sets for the station and Jogana sub-station.

Mohammed also said two new large tanks had been provided for water, and another large tank for storage of diesel.
According to her, the station would continue to educate, entertain, inform and enlighten the public without partisanship.
The MD also said that the station sponsored 10 staff to a workshop on translation and interpretation at Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

“The atmosphere of the station is very neat and clean because of the commitment of the staff. We have good working environment and there is a closer understanding between the management and staff,” she said.
“We are always working as a team for the development of the station. Radio Kano is best among others because everyone is proud of our activities.
“The issue of slander and libel does not have a room in our station because of the competent staff we have who were professionally trained by qualifications and experience.”
