Aminu Ado Bayero, Emir of Kano, has appealed to traders to reduce the prices of foodstuffs and other goods, as a Ramadan gesture.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently disclosed that food inflation has hit 35.4 percent, with prices of items skyrocketing on the back of President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies.
NAN reports that the Emir said this on Sunday during the launch of a book titled ‘Dauloli a Kasar Hausa’ meaning ‘Kingdoms in Hausa-land’, by Sa’idu-Mohammed Gusau.
He also advised wealthy Nigerians to help the less privileged during the festive period.
