David Alaba, the Real Madrid defender, through his foundation, has donated an ultra-modern bio-degradable toilet facility in the Ogere Remo community in Ogun state.
The Austrian-born former Bayern Munich player’s gesture was announced by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), via her Twitter handle on Saturday.
She also lauded David Alaba Foundation for donating the toilet facility to the state.
Dabiri-Erewa revealed that Alaba’s gesture is also to support the federal government’s initiative to end open defecation in Nigeria — especially in his native home in Ogere.

She hinted that the three-time Champions League winner is planning to build a football training centre in Nigeria.
“A big thanks for the facility donated by the David Alaba Foundation at Kara Market, Ogere Remo, Ogun State to support FGNs move to end open defecation in Nigeria,” Dabiri-Erewa wrote.
The footballer was born in Vienna to Gina and George Alaba. His mother emigrated from the Philippines to work as a nurse while his dad is a prince from Ogere.
