Joselu scored twice in three minutes as Real Madrid earned a 2-1 comeback win over Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final second-leg clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

The Spanish La Liga champions had an unlikely hero in the 34-year-old Spanish striker who came on as a substitute minutes before delivering a heroic cameo.

The scoreline brings the tie to an aggregate 4-3 victory for Real Madrid who advance to the final of the competition.

Real Madrid dominated the first half and went close a couple of times, with Rodrygo and Vinicius wasting good openings in the first half.

Real Madrid upped the tempo in the second half and were denied by Manuel Neuer before Bayern Munich took the lead against the run of play through Davies.

The fullback collected a Harry Kane pass and cut in before unleashing a vicious shot into the far corner from the edge of the area.

Real Madrid thought they had equalized when Nacho’s shot was deflected into the net but VAR ruled it out for infringement in the build-up.

The hosts eventually found a way through with Joselu pouncing on a Neuer error to equalize on 88 minutes before slotting in Antonio Rudiger’s low cross in the first minute of added time to send Real Madrid through to the final.

The victory over Bayern extends Real’s unbeaten record at home against the Germans to nine matches.

Real Madrid will contest for a 15th UCL title against Borussia Dortmund, another German team, on June 1 at Wembley.
