“La Real Sociedad and UD Almería have reached an agreement over the transfer of Sadiq Umar. La Real, in turn, has reached an agreement with the player until the end of the 27-28 season. He will wear number 25,” the statement reads.

“The player arrived this morning in San Sebastian where he passed his medical at Policlínica Gipuzkoa. The new Txuri Urdin player signed his new contract in the afternoon.

“Sadiq Umar (Kaduna, Nigeria 02/02/1997) took his first steps as a footballer in his country. He quickly stood out and, at the age of 16, he moved to Italy. After one year at Serie D side Lavagnese, he played for Spezia Calcio for another season before moving on to Rome.

“He made his Roman bow at the tender age of 18 for Serie A and subsequently was loaned to Bologna, Torino, Breda, Rangers, Perugia and Partizan, scoring 23 goals in 52 appearances for the latter. In 2020, Sadiq signed for UD Almeria, where he continued his magnificent career.

“Two exceptional seasons with the Andalusian side have placed him in the orbit of big clubs. He has chosen la Real, where he will be able to continue to demonstrate his power, voracity and goalscoring ability. He joins the team to reinforce an attack with multiple variants. Excitement and hunger to continue growing. The perfect mix for this club.”
