Medeama, Ghana Premier League champions, defeated Remo Stars 1-0 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League (CCL) qualifying round on Sunday.
Remo Stars, appearing in the CCL for the first time, endured a wobbly pitch and poor finishing to succumb to defeat at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Both clubs traded chances early on, with Dele Ojo heading straight to the goalkeeper from a floated Remo Stars free kick.
Medeama responded with the opener on 22 minutes through a deflected strike from Jonathan Sowah.

Although the hosts created more chances, they could not add to their one-goal lead before the half-time break.
The visiting Remo Stars responded with two changes at the start of the second half but missed a sitter three minutes after the restart as Sikiru Alimi fired wide.
The game became a cagey affair afterwards and while the visitors could not find the equaliser, they limited the scoreline to one-nil.
