Report: FG writes US, UK over ‘hacking’ of Buhari’s health records

A committee probing the alleged hack of President Muhammadu Buhari’s health records in the build-up to the 2015 elections has written the US and UK to demand information.

The federal government had set up a committee after reports surfaced that a rich supporter of former President Goodluck Jonathan reportedly hired SCL, a data analytics company, to paint President Buhari in a bad light.

The reports revealed that the fixers for the Jonathan campaign hacked into Buhari’s medical and financial records in order to sway the decision of the electorate in the 2015 election.

According to PUNCH, the committee wrote to the US and UK in the bid to get to the root of the matter.

“You will recall that when the news broke, the government set up what we called an in-house committee to investigate the matter,” the newspaper quoted a presidential source as saying.

“The last I heard about that committee was that they have written to the US and the UK for more information on what happened.

“I am yet to find out if those countries have responded and the stage which the committee is now.”
