The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported nearly 6,000 illegal immigrants since President Donald Trump took office, Daily Mail reports.

According to the report, a senior White House official said there have been an average of around 370 to 400 deportations per day in the 15 days since Trump has been in office.

The report said ICE deported 512 illegal immigrants on Monday alone, quoting federal data, and, in total, arrested 715 individuals with outstanding immigration violations.

The report said 73 percent of the migrants either had known criminal convictions or pending charges, including homicide, sexual crimes against minors, and drug trafficking.

The official said since Trump’s swearing-in, close to 9,000 immigration violators have been arrested.

Six Tren de Aragua (TDA) cartel affiliates were reportedly arrested on Monday in addition to nine other migrant gang members.

“President Trump’s administration is carrying out his promise to arrest and deport criminal illegal immigrants,” the official said.

“There’s more to come. This is just the beginning.”

Since he took over office, Trump has enforced his crackdown on illegal immigrants in the country.

Trump signed a series of executive orders on the first day of his second term.

Among these was declaring a national emergency at the US-Mexico border and ordering the deployment of troops to enhance border security.
