The house of representatives has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations (UN) to eliminate discrimination against women in Nigeria.
The MoU was signed with the office of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women—Nigeria Member (OCEDAWNM).
In a statement on Wednesday, Akin Rotimi, spokesperson of the house of representatives, said the MoU will strengthen legislative interventions focused on addressing the issues affecting women.
Rotimi said the collaboration highlights the green chamber’s commitment to promoting inclusion and affirmative action in line with the “people’s house legislative agenda”.
