Rescued Babington girls resume school

The three Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary girls who were rescued from their abductors over the weekend have resumed studies.
An administrative staff member of the seminary, who did not want to be named, told NAN at the school that the girls had joined their schoolmates for revision classes ahead of their examinations, which begin next week.

“The girls are back in school and they are also preparing for their forthcoming examinations,” he said. “This week is for revision and examinations will commence fully next week.”

A correspondent who visited the school observed that parents who withdrew their children following the abduction had begun to return them there.

Bola Odu, a parent who returned her children to the school, said the incident was a lesson for other school authorities to bolster security around their premises.

Odu also advised them to always carry out proper screening and profiling of those to be employed as teaching and non-teaching staff.
