Despite travelling to the United Kingdom for “a much-deserved rest”, Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s incoming president, met with David Cameron, British prime minister (PM), at 10 Downing street, the official residence of the PM, on Saturday.
When Buhari left for Britain on Friday – his first trip outside the country since winning the March 28 presidential election – Garba Shehu, head of his media team, said he would use the opportunity of the visit to “take a much-deserved rest ahead of his inauguration on May 29″.
“He is expected back in the country a few days before the inauguration, refreshed and ready to hit the ground running once he is sworn into office,” Garba said in a statement.
In February, the president-elect visited the same country where he gave a passionate speech at Chatham House, but it fuelled speculations about his state of health.

Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, alleged that Buhari was sick; hence his trip to London to receive treatment. But the president-elect dismissed the allegation.
