The wife of Hakeem Odumosu, a retired assistant inspector-general of police (AIG), has been abducted by “masked men” in Ogun state.
The victim was reportedly whisked away at about 9:55 pm on Thursday by four masked men while entering her home in Arepo, Obafemi Owode LGA of the state.
The abductors took the former AIG’s wife through a swampy area to an unknown destination after dragging her out of her Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
Meanwhile, the police command in Ogun says it has deployed officers to investigate the incident.

In a statement on Friday, Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, said the divisional police officer (DPO) of the Warewa division led officers to the scene of the abduction.
Odutola added that the DPO has also contacted the Warewa and Maaba community leaders to mobilise local security personnel to comb the riverine area.
Odutola said Lanre Ogunlowo, the police commissioner in Ogun, has been briefed about the incident.

She noted that all necessary resources, including digital intelligence, are being used to ensure the victim’s rescue.
“Further updates will be provided,” she added.
