Retired officer among eight declared wanted for ‘terrorism’ by Enugu police

The Enugu police command has declared a retired officer wanted over alleged involvement in terrorism and kidnapping in the state.

In a statement on Tuesday, Daniel Ndukwe, police spokesperson in the state, said the command has also declared seven others wanted for similar offences.

Ndukwe named the retired police officer as Asogwa Moses Uche, a 47-year-old man residing in Ovoko, Igbo-Eze South LGA of Enugu.

Some of the other wanted persons are Sunday Gabriel from Igga LGA; Ogechukwu Joseph from Igbo-Eze North; and Ugwu Anthony from Igbo-Eze South LGA.

He named the remaining suspects as Ogbuabor Malachy Chizoba from Ohodo in Igbo-Etiti LGA; Sunday Eze; Jude Friday; and Chitor Moses from Igga.

“The above-named persons in the attached photographs and respective descriptions have been declared wanted by the Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force in the case of conspiracy to wit: murder, terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, arson, and unlawful possession of firearms,” the statement reads.

The police spokesperson urged persons with information on the whereabouts of the suspects to immediately report to the command.

“If any or all of them are seen, arrest and hand over to the nearest police station, or call 08032003702, or 08086671202. Or send email to [email protected],” he added.

“A handsome monetary reward will be given for credible information that leads to their arrest.”
