REVEALED: The allegations against Nyako

Members of Adamawa house of assembly, have levelled 26 allegations of “gross misconduct” against Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy Mr Bala Ngilari.

The speaker of the assembly, Ahmadu Fintiri, had on Wednesday directed the clerk of the house to serve the governor and his deputy with impeachment notice.

Twenty allegations were levelled against Nyako and six against Ngilari.

Some of the allegations against Nyako included diversion of N2.3 billion workers’ salary for September and October 2011, and illegal deductions and diversion of N142 million emoluments of workers in May 2014.

The governor was also alleged to have squandered N4.8 billion and N7.1 billion in 2012 and 2013 respectively, through the office of the secretary to the government against budgetary approvals.

The legislators also accused the deputy governor of diverting N50 million released to him by the ministry of finance to acquire licence for the exploration of solid minerals in 2008.

They also accused Bala of misleading Nyako to invest in mineral exploration that turned out to be a white elephant project.

They claimed that the deputy governor was involved in extra-budgetary expenditure to the tune of N397 million as overhead cost in 2013.

  1. One cannot but feel sorry for this orphaned nation. If he hadn’t fallen out with PDP, they would have no problem with all these ‘atrocities’ he allegedly commited while he was a PDP governor. Politics is more important than governance in this demoncrazy.

    1. Its a shame that this is about politics rather than about the led. We actually need the APC to bring more wych hunting. Who knows Nigeria could become better off.

  2. Are they just waking up from a deep slumber? Since 2011? All lawmakers making the allegations themselves deserve impeachment by the people for serious dereliction of duty. Yes, all the shameful ‘yes-men’ of the Assembly.
