Wizkid has been in the news recently with reports of his disloyalty to friends and the super star has debunked all claims. In an exclusive interview on Tuesday at the BHM office of the Hennessy artistry, he addressed the issues between him and SamKlef, Saeon, his collaboration with Tuface and headlining Hennessy Artistry.
Samklef recently ranted about his utter disgust for Wizkid. In an interview, he talked bitterly about disloyalty and disregard for friendship, a friendship he felt was unrequited. He said he had been an active producer of Wizkid’s music but the artiste paid peanuts for at least six tracks he produced. To top that, he visits the star regularly but never gets his gesture returned. He also claims Wizkid doesn’t even know his son or any member of his family.
Defending himself, Wizkid revealed during the interview that Sam had indeed been at his place two weeks ago and they had partied like animals. Sam didn’t deny this claim and said he wanted more than just that. Wizkid went ahead to say that he couldn’t promise that because he values his time and space and Sam was supposed to understand that. According to him, “I tour every weekend and I hardly have time for myself. I make do with the little time I get and do me and me only.”
As if things weren’t bad enough, sultry singer, Saeon, suddenly remembered Wizkid had pissed her off as well and chose the perfect moment to unleash her anger. She took to Instagram to post her sentiments.

His response to Saeon was hilarious. He snorted when asked what he thought and said it was strictly business between the two of them. Nothing personal. He pitied her when he found out she had sought his attention for a month and of course the money that came with it, all for collaboration with him. He even added that he gave her a discount, something highly unusual of him, and yet he gets casted publicly. “She practically slept outside my house begging for a collaboration and I gave her a hit song. I no try?” he asked continuously.
Later on, TheCable found out that it was a silly publicity stunt by the duo to promote their projects coming up. Samklef had a show hosted for him Tuesday and needed as much buzz as he could get for it and Saeon just put out her body of work and needed the attention as well.
On finally doing collaboration with 2face, the singer, who would rather not be tagged to a genre, was ecstatic about the idea brought about by the liquor brand. But when asked if he would have still featured with the icon regardless of the brand fusion, he nodded. “We already had four tracks made but we never out it out publicly or commercially.”

On the disagreement between him and Davido, he preferred to remain mum on the matter and requested for the next question to be asked.
Recently out with his self-titled album, Wizkid said the acceptance so far has been overwhelming.
“I recently performed Ojuelegba at a concert unintentionally and the audience went wild,” he said. “I was amazed and blessed by their reaction.”
He might not like the fact that the album tour keeps him on the road as often as it can, but he would certainly have that than starve. “People have to buy the album so that I can eat.”

However, on the flip side, he is excited that this is his last album with his record label of time, EME. Wiz has been looking for a way out but had been bound by a signed contract between him and the label over a particular number of albums he was to release under the label. The fight made headlines for long and even warranted a court case. Eventually, regardless of the fact that he had started making his moves outside the label’s, he had to stay put till the album was done.
“I’m just excited for my chance to grow,” he said. “We are going to keep doing business together, Segun, Banky and I, but I’m glad I will finally be able to do things on my own and push my label.”
On the foreign collaborations and his international appearances, it was reported that he might be doing tracks with the likes of Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Chris Brown. When asked to confirm the rumour, he said: “Of course. The track I did with Chris Brown will be out in January…oops did I just say that?” Yes and you heard/read it here first. “So yeah there you have it. I wasn’t supposed to say that, but you got it out of me so look forward to the track in January.”
Wizkid, without music, is a businessman.

“I’m into a lot of investments and I’m planning to start up my own shoe line,” he said. “I’ve been working for it for a year now.”
Aside that, he is looking to do some humanitarian work for the people of Surulere, where he started from. If you are familiar with his Oluwa Lo Ni track, he sang in details his beginning and rise to his current status. And he hopes to go back to make an impact in the little town and of course the industry as a whole, however way he can.

His fears? “Nothing. I’m not scared of anything. I’ve gone through poverty and I don’t think anything can be worse than that.”
