Nuhu Ribadu, pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Obiageli Ezekwesili, a former minister of education, will serve as panellists at a conference addressing corruption in Nigeria.
The teleconference, organised by the Federal Social Democrats (FSD), is themed ‘The Cost of Corruption: Understanding corruption, how it works in Nigeria and the many ways it affects you’.
Other speakers include Funke Adesanya, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN); Bismark Rewane, managing director, Financial Derivatives Company (FDC) Limited; Konyin Ajayi, a legal practitioner; Ishaq Oloyede, registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Oluseun Onigbinde, director and co-founder of BudgIT, a civic tech organisation.

According to FSD, the panellists were chosen “to help us x-ray the corrosive impact of corruption on the economy and the financial system; justice and the legal system; governance and social services.
“We also have on the panel the first chairman of EFCC to offer an insight from his first-hand knowledge on the cost of corruption on our politics and governance.
“An example of how an innocuous MDA can be a hotbed of corruption will also be presented.

“This is the 1st part of a two-part series, the 2nd Part will explore “New Initiatives to Fight Corruption.”
