Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Rangers and runners up, Rivers United, on Wednesday won their rescheduled league matches against Plateau United and Remo Stars.
Both games ended 1-0 in favour of the home teams.
Rangers overcame a penalty miss to secure the victory with Daniel Etor scoring the only goal of the game.
The Flying Antelopes were awarded a penalty in the 15th minute but goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye saved Chibuzor Madu’s spot kick.

Rangers continued to press forward and were rewarded with the first goal in the 22nd minute.
Joshua Obaje nearly restored parity for Plateau United but his shot rebounded off the post.
The victory saw Rangers move up to 16th position on the table.

Elsewhere, Bernard Ovoke’s first half goal handed Rivers United the victory over Remo Stars.
The NPFL is currently on a mid-season break.
