Fatai Osho has been appointed as the new chief coach of River United FC.
Osho’s appointment was announced in a statement on the club’s official Facebook page on Monday.
The statement said Osho replaces Ndubisi Nduka, who had been promoted to the role of technical director at the club.
“Fatai Osho joins as our new Chief Coach. We’re delighted to announce Fatai Osho has joined the club as our Chief Coach. Fatai replaces Coach Ndubisi Nduka, who has been elevated to the office of Technical Director,” the post read.
Osho, who resigned from his job at the helm of affairs at Enyimba in August, will be partnering with Stanley Eguma, the club’s technical adviser.
The gaffer shot into the limelight in 2018 after he guided Remo Stars to its first-ever appearance in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Although the club got relegated almost immediately, he relaunched them back into the league the following season before he resigned.
He then joined the People’s Elephant of Aba in 2020 and stamped his brand of football, fondly called “Sugarball”, on the eight-time Nigerian champions before parting ways earlier this year.
Osho’s first challenge with Rivers will be the next round of CAF Champions League play-off against Al Hilal of Sudan, billed for October.
