Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has received a two-match ban for kicking Edimar in last Saturday’s 2-1 win against Cordoba in La Liga.
FIFA Ballon d’Or winner lashed out at the defender in the closing stages after appearing to become frustrated by the close attention of the Brazilian.
The 29-year-old will now be ineligible for Saturday’s visit of Real Sociedad and the trip to Sevilla in midweek.
However, he will be back in time for the Madrid derby with Atletico Madrid on February 7. But he could return sooner if his club successfully appeal the decision within the next 10 days.

A straight red normally attracts one-match ban, but referee Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez’s assessment that Ronaldo “kicked an opponent without playing the ball” influenced the committee’s decision.
Ronaldo has had a remarkable season, scoring 28 goals and providing nine assists in just 18 league games.
Real lead the Primera Division standings, four points clear and with a game in hand ahead of defending champions Atletico, who are third.
