Rooney breaks Sir Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record

A late goal from Red Devils’ prolific scorer, Wayne Rooney, helped his team get a 1-1 draw with Stoke at Bet365 stadium on Saturday.

Stoke City took the lead in the first half with a lucky deflection off Juan Mata in the 19th minute.

Although Manchester United enjoyed a great deal of possession, they just couldn’t get the goal their play merited.

Wayne Rooney snatched a late equaliser from the free kick spot to break Manchester United’s goalscoring record.

The record was set in 1973 by Sir Bobby Charlton.

Rooney is now Manchester United’s all-time leading scorer with 250 goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 14 league goals have won Manchester United 11 points this season.
