The Rotary Club of Abuja Imperial has inducted Martins Awofadeju as the 10th president.
Awofadeju takes over from Emmanuella Odunze, the club’s outgoing president.
Awofadeju, whose tenure starts on July 1, will be the club’s president for the 2024–25 rotary year.
In his acceptance speech, he promised to exhibit a leadership style that every member would be proud of.

He added that his administration would focus on critical areas such as community service, membership growth, youth engagement, collaborations, and eco-friendly projects.
“As your newly inducted president, I intend to leave a legacy that will outlast my time in office,” Awofadeju said.
“During my tenure, we will focus on community projects that address local needs, membership recruitment drives, programmes that incorporate and inspire youth, and strengthening international collaborations.

“In line with the humanitarian efforts that Rotary is known for, I promise to take up the maternal and child health outreach project in Karonmajigi, Abuja, to save the lives of mothers and children in the area.
“Also, environmental sustainability is key to our agenda. We will embark on tree-planting activities in the Abuja environment.
“We will also continue to develop the leadership skills of our young people by sustaining the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).”
Awofadeju is a graduate of estate management from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun.

He also holds an MSc from Istanbul Aydin University in Turkey and another master’s degree in project management from the University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom.
He is pursuing a master’s degree in cyber forensics at the University of Baltimore, Maryland, US, and is also an alumnus of the AFS Youth Assembly.
Professionally, Awofadeju has served as a real estate officer at Tony Chegwe & Co., as a sales and marketing manager at Adetunji Salami & Co., and as a construction site manager at Megascope Meridian Limited in the UK.
