Rotary Club of Lagos hosts members in annual president’s dinner

The Rotary Club of Lagos has celebrated its annual president’s dinner with members from across 200 countries. 

In a statement, Ifeoma Williams, director of public image at the club, said the dinner held at the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, Victoria Island, in Lagos.

Williams said the event had Victor Okoronkwo, representative of Alex Otti, governor of Abia, as the chairman of the occasion.

During the event, the club displayed its relevant roles and contributions to community service and development.

Speaking during the event, Rita Ejezie, the district governor, highlighted the club’s seven-point agenda and areas of rotary service.

Ejezie said the club has been involved in eradicating polio, promoting peace, supporting education, and providing clean water and sanitation, among other crucial initiatives.

“The evening was not just a celebration but also a showcase of the club’s past projects, highlighting its impactful journey in service,” the statement reads.

“The club acknowledged the generous support of its sponsors, whose contributions have been pivotal in the successful execution of various community projects.

“The attendees were treated to a display of the club’s rich history and its relentless pursuit of “Service Above Self.”

“The Rotary Club of Lagos continues to be a beacon of hope and a catalyst for positive change, touching lives and bridging cultural divides in communities both locally and globally.

“The event underscored the club’s commitment to the Rotary International ethos, uniting over 1.2 million members across 200 countries in a shared goal of making a lasting difference.

The public image director added that the club is ready to continue its legacy of service by demonstrating the essence of empowerment and providing equal opportunity for all.
