Stanislas Kamanzi, the Rwandan high commissioner to Nigeria, says his country is set to host the 4th edition of the African Nations Cup Championship, tagged CHAN 2016.
The championship is contested by Africa-based players.
Kamanzi said at a news conference on Thursday in Abuja that the tournament would take place between Jan.16 and Feb. 7, 2016 in Rwanda with Nigeria and 15 other African countries participating.
The ambassador urged Nigerians to take advantage of the competition to visit Rwanda and cheer their “darling team”, the Super Eagles, to victory.

He said: “Nothing unites people all over the world like football.
“Adequate measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of lives and property of all spectators and participants in the tournament.
“In addition, CAF officials have visited all the stadia to ensure adequate preparations and full compliance.”

Kamanzi said Rwandans were very disciplined, hospitable and peace-loving people, expressing optimism that the tournament would be a huge success.
The high commissioner, NAN reports, also explained that visa related issues would be taken care of at the entry point but urged anyone requiring additional clarification to approach the embassy.
