Mohamed Salah, Egypt and Liverpool striker, has tested positive for COVID-19 on the eve of Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Togo.

According to the BBC, Salah returned a positive result when players were tested for the novel coronavirus before joining the Egyptian national team camp ahead of their double-header games with Togo.

It is also understood that the 28-year-old is not showing any symptoms.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) had earlier released a statement on its website that three players tested positive for COVID-19.
