Samson Itodo, Nigerian youth advocate, has been named among the emerging leaders to attend 2019 edition of International Leaders Programme (ILP) in London.
The executive director of Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA) and convener of the Not Too Young To Run movement was selected to participate in the programme alongside 17 other emerging leaders.
Itodo is said to be the first Nigerian selected for the programme.
The event, organised annually by the UK foreign and commonwealth office, is a platform which brings together emerging leaders who have impacted positively on their societies.

Participants for the programme are usually drawn from various fields including social entrepreneurship, political leadership, technology, music, arts and journalism.
Itodo is known for his advocacy for youth participation in governance and other areas of the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
He was named The Future Africa young person of the year in 2018, and he also won the Leadership newspaper 2018 outstanding young person of the year award.

He is a fellow of the prestigious Archbishop Desmond Tutu leadership programme and recipient of the Junior Chamber International, Nigeria 2019 10 outstanding young persons award.
