Sand Eagles must beat Cote d’Ivoire, says Adamu

Samson Adamu, the CEO of Kinetic Sports Management, organisers of the annual Copa Lagos beach soccer tournament has called on the Super Sand Eagles to win their next match against Cote d’Ivoire.

The team, who are currently campaigning at the on-going CAF African Beach Soccer Championship, has bagged maximum points from two games scoring 14 goals and conceding two.

The Sand Eagles beat hosts Seychelles 10-1 in the opening match of the tournament which also serves as qualifiers for the Beach Soccer World Cup coming up in Portugal.

The Audu Adamu Ejo-tutored side also defeated African soccer power, Egypt 4-1 in their second group game played on Wednesday.

They will face Cote d’Ivoire (pictured in their 2-1 over Seychelles) on Thursday and Adamu has called on the team to trample on the Elephants.

“It is very expedient to win their match against the Ivory Coast national beach team,” he said.

“It will go a long way to boost the confidence of the team psychologically and get the team focused on coming top in their group en route to the finals of the CAF African Beach Soccer Championship, thereby guaranteeing the Super Sand Eagles a World Cup ticket to Portugal in June this year.”

Nigeria tops the group with six points and must avoid defeat against the Ivorians, who has four points, to end as group winners.
