Muhammad Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, has urged the federal and states governments to boost agriculture in order to increase food production across the country.
Sanusi said this on Monday while delivering his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims at the Kofar Mata Eid prayer ground in Kano.
He spoke on the need for the federal government to construct additional dams to encourage dry-season farming for massive production of cash and food crops.
He urged Nigerians to continue praying for the prosperity of the country irrespective of religious beliefs or political affiliation.

He also called on wealthy Muslims to alleviate poverty by supporting the less privileged in the society.
He said the call was also necessary in order to provide job opportunities to the teeming number of unemployed youths, as well as ensure food security in the country.
Hafiz Abubakar, deputy governor, members of the state executive council, and traditional rulers from the 44 local government were also in attendance at the prayer ground.
