The Lagos state government has created an online poll seeking the opinion of residents on whether or not it should reintroduce the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
In November, Akinwunmi Ambode, former governor of the state, cancelled the exercise which held from 7am to 10am, every last Saturday of every month.
This was after a court nullified the restriction of movement of citizens during the exercise.
The court had asked the state government to pass a law restricting the movement of persons before enforcing the restriction.

But two days after taking over from Ambode, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration is considering restoring the exercise.
It conducted a poll on the issue on its official social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook.
As of the time of filing this report, there were over 3,000 votes on Twitter, with 67 percent voting in favour of the return of the sanitation exercise while 33 percent voted against it.

On Facebook, 79 percent voted yes while 21 percent voted no.

Less than 24 hours after his inauguration, the governor had signed an executive order to address issues of traffic control, potholes and sanitation and waste management in the state.

The opinion poll should be conducted via the State Government website with enough notices and link to the site.
