Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, has inaugurated the fourth flyover constructed along the rail mass transit red Line corridor.
Sanwo-Olu said his administration is committed to delivering a “safe, sustainable, integrated, and seamless” transport system.
The Lagos governor said the Ikeja flyover is a “precursor to the commencement of passenger operations” for the red rail line.
The event was witnessed by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, governor of Kwara state.

“When we came on board, we gave our words on the implementation of two rail lines, which are the LRMT Blue and Red lines,” Sanwo-Olu is quoted as saying in a statement by Gboyega Akosile, his chief press secretary.
“In the last four and a half years of our administration, we have prioritised the implementation of an integrated transportation system under the Traffic Management and Transportation pillar of our THEMES+ Agenda.

“We remain committed to delivering a transport system that is safe, sustainable, integrated, seamless and with the potential to drive the socio-economic growth and development of Lagos and the country.”
On his part, Abdulrazaq said Lagos is an example worth emulating in terms of socio-economic growth and development agenda.
The Kwara governor added that the project is part of President Bola Tinubu’s legacy, whose administration in Lagos created LAMATA to drive the state’s transport vision.
“This is adding to the legacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
