Sanwo-Olu picks ex-lawmaker to head ferry services

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, has appointed Abdoulbaq Balogun as managing director and chief executive officer of Lagos Ferry Services Company.

Balogun was a member of the Lagos state house of assembly between 2011 and 2015.

The mandate of the corporation is to operate water transportation services by restoring and advancing the growth of public water transportation within Lagos state.

A trained economist and chartered full member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Balogun was born on August 1, 1975.

He started his primary education at Isale Maliki LSMB School and completed at Karuma Primary School, Ilorin, between 1980 and 1986. For his post-primary education, he attended Ilorin Grammar School, Ilorin.

Omo Alalubarika, as he is fondly called, proceeded to Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka – Yaba, Lagos for his National Certificate in Computer Education Studies and later, the Polytechnic, Ibadan to studied Business Administration.

A youth advocate, his hobbies include traveling, research, reading, organising events and mentoring talents.
