Sanwo-Olu to host 18th town hall meeting on security

The Lagos state government will be convening its 18th annual town hall meeting on security matters.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, will be the chief host of the summit which will hold at Lagos House in Ikeja on December 18.

Gbenga Omotoso, commissioner for information and strategy, said the theme of the summit is ‘Data & Technology Driven Security: The Way Forward’. 

He added that major stakeholders in the security sector are expected at the event by noon.

“On the agenda is the presentation of patrol vehicles and other equipment to security operatives,”Omotoso said.

“Besides, LSSTF Executive Secretary Rasaq Balogun will render an account of his stewardship. Other security chiefs will also speak at the meeting.

“The Security Trust Fund was established in 2007 to combat violent crimes, especially bank robberies.

“To the credit of the Trust Fund, there has been no incident of bank robbery in the State in the last five years.”
