Senate President Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, say they have received letters from President Muhammadu Buhari notifying the national assembly of his return to the country.
While Saraki disclosed this on his Facebook page on Monday, Dogara spoke in a two-paragraph statement issued by Turaki Hassan, his spokesman.
“I have received a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the senate he he has returned to the country,” Saraki said.
“I have also acknowledged the letter.”

Dogara said the letter was delivered by Suleiman Sumaila, senior special assistant to the president on national assembly matters (house of reps).
Buhari returned to the country from the UK, where he received medical treatment, on Saturday.
Before leaving for the UK he wrote to the upper legislative chamber informing it of his trip, and he transferred power to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
