Sati Gogwim, former senator who represented Plateau central, is dead.
According to NAN, the former lawmaker died on Tuesday in Pankshin, Plateau state, after a protracted illness. He was 72.
Williams Gogwim, a younger brother to the deceased, said the retired major has been ill since 2020.
“My brother has been sick since last year and in December he left the country for treatment abroad and only returned on Sunday, April 4,” the news agency quoted him as saying.

“He came back a little bit stronger, until this morning when he had a health crisis, which compelled us to rush him to Rayfield Medical Centre.
“Unfortunately on getting there he was confirmed dead.”
The younger Gogwim said the family has already begun making plans for his funeral which will be announced at a later date.

The former lawmaker was elected into the senate in 2007 where he spent four years.
He lost his seat to Joshua Dariye, a former governor of Plateau, in 2011.
