The embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Abuja has distributed 100 tons of dates to Kano state and the federal capital territory (FCT) as part of its annual humanitarian relief efforts.
The initiative, facilitated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), aims to support vulnerable families and strengthen the ties between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, Saudi’s ambassador to Nigeria, said the Kingdom remains dedicated to humanitarian causes.
He added that Saudi Arabia is committed to fostering Islamic solidarity and providing relief to those in need.

Al-Ghamdi explained that 50 tons of dates would be distributed in Abuja, while another 50 tons would be sent to Kano.
“This initiative represents the Kingdom’s broader mission to uplift Muslim communities, alleviate suffering, and promote unity, particularly during significant religious periods such as Ramadan,” the ambassador said.
He assured that the embassy, in collaboration with local authorities and humanitarian organisations, will ensure the dates reach vulnerable families in different regions of Nigeria.
