The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has cautioned job-seekers to disregard any recent advertisement claiming it is recruiting.
There have been recent reports by several blogs that the fire service is currently recruiting.
But in a statement on Tuesday, Hugo Huan, the fire service spokesman, said the agency is not recruiting, and described the circulating information as false.
“We want to advise the general public to disregard the false information being circulated by some fraudsters on recruitment by the Federal Fire Service,” the statement reads.

“Please note that the Federal Fire Service is not recruiting at the moment.”
Several agencies in Nigeria, in recent times, have also had to caution the public against recruitment scams.
In August, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had asked Nigerians to beware of fake recruitment adverts circulating on social media.

The commission said scammers are recirculating INEC’s old advertisement for recruitment on social media platforms, with the intention to “lure and dupe unsuspecting members of the public with attractive offers of employment”.
Similarly, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) had also asked Nigerians to disregard reports that the agency is recruiting.
It said the clarification became necessary following desperate efforts by fraudsters to defraud unsuspecting job seekers.

Thanks for this update. I don’t know why Nigerians are wicked to one another. Imagine scamming job seekers looking to get into the fire service.
