Seven-time Formula One champion, Schumacher, out of coma

Michael Schumacher’s manager has announced that the former seven-time world champion is now out of the medically-induced coma that doctors placed him into, following the serious head injury he suffered in a skiing accident.

Sabine Kehm said in a statement that Schumacher had left the Grenoble hospital where he had been under intensive care since December last year in order to continue his long-term rehabilitation.

“He is not in a coma anymore,” said Kehm.

“His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble, as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident who did an excellent job in those first months.
