Troops of operation Hadin Kai have reportedly repelled an attack by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno.
An ambush laid by the terrorists were said to have failed when the troops from the operation’s 21 armoured brigade engaged the terrorist between Kumshe and Bama.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, scores of the terrorists were killed by the troops.
Sources reportedly said the terrorists detonated an explosive which was followed by gun shots.

“The terrorists detonated improvised explosive device and followed with continuous gun shots which was immediately repelled by the gallant troops,” a source was quoted as saying.
“The special forces repelled the attack, killing many of the insurgents with no casualty on the side of the military.
“One Hilux of the military was destroyed while some soldiers who sustained wounds during the encounter are being treated at the Brigade Headquarters in Bama.”

The development comes weeks after troops of operation Hadin Kai killed six Boko Haram fighters in Borno, during an ambush in Kayamla village near Maiduguri, the state capital.
Also on September 11, troops had killed seven Boko Haram insurgents during a raid in the axis of Daula market in Bama LGA of Borno.
