Secondus: Amaechi has the military but we have God

Uche Secondus, former acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, of declaring war on members of PDP, saying God will fight on behalf of the party.

Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, on Monday, Secondus condemned the role of the military in the legislative rerun election.

He alleged that soldiers were sent after supporters of the PDP

“Amaechi orchestrated the insecurity in Rivers. He was going all over the place with hoodlums and the military. We are all witnesses to what happened in south-east senatorial district. People were killed in Gokana, Khana, and in Andoni,” he said.

“They shot people at will. But the will of God and the people must prevail. They pushed us to the end, but God will revenge on our behalf.

“Gov. Wike contributed so much to the peace witnessed in this region. Since the beginning of the blowing up off pipelines under this administration, nothing has happened in Rivers. Rivers has been calm, no terrorism in Rivers, but the result we get in the end is for the military to come and kill us.

“God will revenge. We don’t have anyone, we don’t have weapons, we don’t have the capability of withstanding the federal might, but we have God.

“Rivers people remain calm and see what God will do. Power belongs to the people, not the military that they used against us.”

Amaechi has denied all the allegations levelled against him.
