As if supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan had been anticipating his return, #GEJWhileYouWereAway started trending on Twitter in less than two hours after the news of his arrival became public.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) broke the news of the return of the immediate past president via its Twitter handle, around 7pm on Wednesday.

During his absence, there were reports that he had gone to Ivory Coast on exile for fear of being arrested by the government, an allegation that he denied, explaining that he only left the country to rest, and will return soon.
