There have been suspicions that the upper chamber of the national assembly is fighting back over the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Saraki is currently facing a 13-count charge of alleged false declaration of assets and corruption.
On Monday Umar ruled that his trial will now hold daily between 9 am and 6 pm, with an hour break in between.
In November, Saraki directed the committee to investigate an allegation that Umar recieved a bribe of N10 million from one Rasheed Taiwo, a retired comptroller of customs.
